We stayed here october 2011 for 7 nights
in our tent yes a tent (lol)

upon arrival at the site we was met by the site manager nice man very helpfull

we pitched with no problem and wow what STUNNING veiws

unfortunatly the good old weather let us down on the second day off our stay and we thought this was the ent to our first camping trip to chy carne!!!

But this was not to be as when i popped up to the on site shop i met the lady owner of the site (what a top lady ) hope she does not mind me saying so but you dont get customer service like we got any where...

After a short freindly discusion she offered to up grade us to one of the static units on site if we wanted and if weather got any nastier with a small extra charge to cover gas and electric to be expected she advised me to call her any hour and she would sort it out...

Well did not take long to take her up on the offer good old british weather
but i will add this to round off ...

We wish to express our deepest thanks to making our holiday more special and not a disaster that thought it was going to be...

the site is brilliant clean tidy well stocked RECOMEND IT TO ALL

cant wait to go back in summer for more than a week this time...

once again many thanks...

hope you like the flowers least we could do x

Camped at Chy Carne for 7 nights from the 25th August 2011.
Great site, clean, tidy, friendly and very laid back.
Particularly liked the various pitch choices, the Marquee Bar, the dog friendly attitude and lets not forget the fantastic views and the nearby beaches etc.
If I owned a campsite it would be pretty similar to this one!

Just returned from a glorious week at Chy Carne in late August 2011. As a dedicated camper for more years than I'd care to mention, this is one of the best.
The view from the site towards Kennack Sands is fantastic and as a bonus is within easy walking distance.
The site is well run, it's friendly owners and staff are always on hand and whilst relaxed and easy going, robustly sort out any problems on site including one family who were asked to leave after a noisy late night party.
For those that don't know the area, The Lizard peninsula has some of the best beaches in Cornwall and is well worth the extra hour or so's drive.
All in all a real gem of a site and we will definitely return.

Stayed at chy carne for a week from 13th - 20th august.
This is our 2nd time at the park, last year we camped but this time we stayed in one of the 3 bed static caravans on site.
The vans are very reasonably priced, clean and well equipped and are very spacious. We had 2 teenagers and 4 adults in the van, it was plenty spacious for us all.
We used the refurbished showers on the camping field as they were next to our van, they have greatly improved since last year, no waiting for them and constant hot water, like the improvements made in the big field with the new shower blocks there.
This is a lovely, peaceful place to stay, you really feel like you are getting away from it all.
The shop is well stocked with essentials and the bar and takeaways are great too!
Kennack sands is the nearest beach , ten minutes walk, parking only £3 for all day, great for body boarding, lifeguards in high season so safe for the kids. Two cafes so plenty of choice. toilets too.
The lizard is well worth a visit , great walk down to the lighthouse, you may even spot some seals!!
I would throughly recommend this park for a great family holiday, the staff are really helpful and friendly and we will definetly return again next year.
Thanks again for a wonderful time.

I stayed at Chy Carne at the beginning of August with friends and we were all VERY impressed! The park has superb facilities; my daughter particularly enjoyed the play park and games room! The shower blocks and toilets were very clean and fitted to a high standard. The pitch sizes are generous and organised so that you don’t feel too ‘closed in’ by neighbouring tents.
The location is superb too, so close to the beach and we had a beautiful view of the sea from our tent!
I cannot recommend this site enough, friendly staff and reasonably priced... I will definitely be back!!
Thank you.

I stayed here in a tent it was lovely and there was a swing and birds nest swing and a slide for the kids the entertainment was also great. I tried the pizza and it was lovely. The holiday park is close to the beach and 10 miles from a fun park in Helston called flambards. The staff were lovely and the facillities were clean every day the kids loved and on the last day they met new friends called casie and kia.

Lovely park, very clean and tidy, staff very freindly and helpful, just a few points though:
There are no bins in the ladies toilet cubicles, there is only a bin on the entrance to the toilets, ladies need a bin in the cubicles.
we were charged peak season price but none of the facilities were open. The bar was open the first night i think but that was it, surely if none of the facilities are open you shouldnt charge people full price maybe mid season price.
other than that though lovely site with great veiws.
thanks for a lovely weeks holiday. i would recomend this site to friends.

***** Thank you for your review. We encourage truthful and honest reviews unlike many many other local sites. Providing bins in the ladies toilets is somethink we have considered, however there is no need when all waste can be quite happily disposed of into the toilet. Our septic tanks are emptied on a frequent basis and therefore poses no risk of major blockages. During our main season all our facilities are open however this is solely dependant on visitor numbers. As you can appreciate we are a small business mainly staffed by family so we need to keep our costs to a minimum. Our prices do reflect our facilities and the very high standards that our customers have come to expect from us. 2012 chy carne has been upgraded to a 4 pennant park by the AA for which is recognition for all our hard work and attention to detail giving our customers more value for money. However it is our customers and there comments that help us to achieve this so we thank you for taking the time to give us your feed back and we hope to see you again chy carne holiday park

We have been to Chy Carne now for 2 years running and really love it. This year the facilities had been upgraded and it made such a difference. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much of a bother for them. The new shop is well stocked and the games room was a haven for our 4 children. We also enjoyed having the fire pits onsite and the use of the massive marquee. The toilets and showers were regularly cleaned and this year they had added piped music which was great.
I have recommended this site to lots of our friends and as a family we will definitely be going back again next year.

We stayed at Chy Carne for the ukcs rally. Many thanks for the great 2 weeks, the owners and ALL the staff were very friendly and hard-working.
The on-site shop was well stocked, and a real bonus to be open until 11pm each night. We had the Pizza's a couple of times from "Big Daddies" well made and a good price too, the on-site catering unit served good food with great size portions.
The new drainage fitted around the site for this year really helped, our pitch didnt suffer during the rain at all :o)
The two new toilets and dishwashing area that has been built near the non-ehu field is a real bonus, and will be boosted for next year when the new showers are built.
We have never been on a rally before, but had a super time.
Well done to all those involved, and i cant wait to get back to Chy Carne

Just returned yesterday from our holiday at chycarne,a top site with top class facilities,a well stocked shop, great snack shack and clean loo blocks :) and most importantly great staff :)
a fab family site with 2 play areas for the kids, plus some outdoor games (table footie, table tennis, pool etc) plus a newly built games room along side the new shop/reception.... Chycarne also sells pizzas which are sooper scrummy and a fraction of the cost of other pizza takeaways :)
i would recommend this site to anyone!!
the views are breathtaking the view from my pitch is the view at the top of this page :) a few mins walk to Kennack Sands a lifeguarded beach with safe bathing areas :)
im really rather hopeless at doing reviews... I haven't anything bad to say about chycarne... I love it!! and me and my family can't wait to return :) Happy camping :) ohhh the firepits...you can hire firepits and buy wood at £4 a bag...amazing idea...the stars are amazing at night the shooting ones are amazing too!!
i could go on... i dont want to forget anything... so go on and try it!!

Just returned from a fabulous 12 night camping trip at Chy Carne. Enjoyed it so much, we felt moved to verse:

Very friendly staff,
Very clean showers,
Very nice facilities
Surrounded by flowers

Blackberrys in the bushes
Buzzards in the air
Lounging around the campsite,
without a care

Fantastic seascapes
just down the road
And there¡¦s Gwendreath nature reserve
with its frogs and its toads

Kennack Sands rock pools,
teeming with life.
Shallow, calm seas,
relieving our strife

The kids, they just loved it
Cos there¡¦s plenty to do
Stroll down to the beach
Or enjoy coastal path views

Walks down to the Lizard
and back on the bus
No need for a car
and no need to fuss

Right. Run out of creative brilliance nowļ, but would also like to say that there were excellent facilities (playground and indoor and outdoor games areas) to keep the kids entertained and plenty of toilets and showers, cleaned three times a day. The shop stocked pretty much all the food and camping equipment we needed, making a trip to the supermarket a rare inconvenience on our time. They also re-froze our freezer packs and recharged our electricals. The large marquee provided a place to meet socially, and try the freshly made pizzas. They were sold from the shop, were very reasonably priced and were a treat for the kids (or was it a break from my cooking they really enjoyed?)
The staff showed us where to pitch so that people didn¡¦t camp on top of each other. I thought that was a good idea. They also were keen to help with local information:
Kennack Sands, 10 min walk away, has clear waters and a kid safe, lifeguarded beach with large areas of fine sand.
Kynance Cove is spectacular (short drive away). The waves are higher there on the West coast, and you can see how they have battered the coastline into the stunning shapes that exist today. The surrounding heath to the north offers great bio-diversity and a fine walk and view over towards Land¡¦s End
Had a brill time. I¡¦ll be back next year.

just returned from 9 day break at chycarne. park was clean and kept very tidy. showers were kept clean but could do with more than 4 especially in the ladies as there was a bit of a que at times. Thought the idea of the toilets in the sheds were great and good not to have to walk across to main block.
pitches are spacious and we had lovely seaviews across kennacks sands.

park is situated close to beach within a 15 minute walkb. plenty to do there for families.
Sue, Steve and family very helpful nothing was to much trouble!
takeaway on site was very good with chips pizzas etc if you didnt want to cook!
close to flambards so had a great day out there for the kids. loads of places to visit in area but need a car

we will definetly return again had a wonderful relaxing holiday.

Thank you to all at Chy Carne for a fabulous week at the Holiday Park. However, being disabled with leg injuries, I had problems accessing No25 due to high steps, and no grab rails. Found that access to the small bedrooms became a problem due to injuries. Not complaining, as should have booked earlier for a chalet. Overall a very pleasant, clean, and happy Holiday Park, with added additions such as the shop, and take away facilities. Loved the quietness in the evenings, and most of all the easy access to everywhere in Cornwall. Shall be planning future visits. So once again, many thanks for a wonderful week. Best Wishes to all.
